The Rich Monkey

One of my readers has been struggling to make money from the advice of The Rich Monkey. He has a £27 e-book with lots of advice about using public domain books to make money, plus other marketing techniques.
There is probably one reason why this book hasn’t quickly made the sort of money my reader expected.
Yes, the Rich Monkey is living the dream in Mallorca with a Range Rover Sport TD.
But while he talks of a single system that’s allowed him to achieve £7000 per week, his e-book won’t instantly beam you into his life, as if you’re Sam in that old telly show Quantum Leap.
The £27 e-book is an educational 'how to' product that shows you the a business strategy. It gives you ideas and techniques. But it doesn’t have absolutely everything you need to set up, run, and make a success of a home business on a day to day basis.
There’s no scam involved in this. This is usually the sort of thing you'll get for £27 - it's known as an 'entry level' product.
You get a bunch of insights, secrets and tips that an internet marketer has discovered (or adapted, more likely) for himself.
Customers who buy this will be advertised higher level products that will have more specific information and tools. eg a mentoring service, seminar or course.
If you’re interested in an e-book like this, I would consider it a first education in the principles of direct marketing than a ‘business in a box’.... you know, the sort that has a complete system that you follow step-by-step, with products, customers, email support, technical help, etc. (If you’re into that level of opportunity, then check out Omega here )
Or it could be something you buy if you’ve started making a little bit of money from a website, product or service, and want to know how to market it more successfully.
The Rich Jerk had a similar type of manual out in 2005 when I started thinking about internet marketing. It was a great influence on me and was the first thing I reviewed when I started The Biz Opp Jungle.
Okay, so it didn’t hold all the answers, or provide me with a complete business...
But without manuals like this I would have been clueless and vulnerable. In my view, even ONE strong tip that helps you towards achieving your goals is worth the money.
A £27 starter education
Most serious home entrepreneurs will have a bunch of different educational manuals and systems on their shelves. My own income streams are a mishmash of various techniques and ideas I’ve tried from such manuals.
Yes, they are quite expensive, ranging from £19-£47 – you don’t get books for that price in Waterstones! But the truth is that it takes quite bit of learning, trial and error to start making a success of a home business. All good advice is valuable. A library of techniques and strategies is ideal, if you’ve the money to invest.
I know that’s not what people want to hear. We love the idea of cheap, easy instant answers. And I understand the desire to believe a £27 manual will contain everything you need to make money from home for life. But the real world doesn’t work that way.
