Why John Smith is annoying me
Today’s Adventure in the Biz Opp Jungle:
‘In which Charlie really needs to take a break, because he’s beginning to think that people’s “I’m away on holiday” messages are mocking him.’
Hi,
Well I’m glad YOU are here.
At least someone is.
Because as far as I can tell, almost everyone else is taking the next week or two off as holiday.
The reason I know this is that when I send emails out, I always get a whole load of auto-responders saying things like, “John Smith is away from the office until August the 4th”.
As summer hits its stride, I get more and more of these returns, as more people go away... and it being summer, they get slightly more smug...
“John Smith is away on holiday, and won’t be returning until August 4th.”
....until it feels like these auto-responders are saying to me:
“Look, idiot-face. John Smith is away from the office until August the 4th. He’s doing something INTERESTING and FUN, unlike you, you SADDO, who happens to be emailing him with your biz opp tips at the peak of summer. What are you, some kind of BERK?”
So you know what?
I don’t care that I’m going so insane that I think people’s auto-response emails are mocking me. Or that I haven’t got a holiday planned because I’ve got a mad puppy to look after and new house to decorate!
I’m also going to take a little break from the Biz Opp Jungle.
Not for long, mind. Just until John Smith, Barry Biggins,. Susan Swatty and Percy Percival all get back from their exotic fun-filled travels on the 4th of August and join the rest of us mere mortals.
Them being so exciting, adventurous, important and everything, I wouldn’t want them to miss out.
