Why I might have to disappear

I’ve been coughing, spluttering, sneezing, wheezing since Sunday...
But bravely, like a war-ravaged soldier, I’ve dragged myself out of bed to write this email today.
Mind you, I’ve not much to say. Usually, I’ve got a pile of reader emails, scam tip-offs and the latest biz opp report to talk about.
But I haven’t even checked my inbox.
It’s nothing serious, of course. No need to give me the last rites. No need for sympathy.
It’s just a dose of the good old MAN-FLU.

And while I’m being so open and honest about my personal life... and while I haven’t got a biz opp review for you today... I should take this opportunity to admit something to you.
I’ve been keeping a big secret
For the last 8 months or so I’ve been involved in a VERY secret project.
Not exactly biz opp... and not exactly something that will make money either.
On the contrary, it’s going to COST me money. As much as £180,000 over the next 21 years, according to a BBC report.
So what is it?
Well I’m having a baby. Or more correctly, the wife is.
If the estimates are correct, a small and girlish version of me should be arriving within the next three weeks. It could happen any time from now. But hopefully after I’ve recovered from this man-flu-lurgie-cough-cold thing.
Otherwise I’ll be spattering the maternity ward with my phlegm. Not good.
I’ll let you know when the weird event has happened of course, but if I suddenly disappear for a week or two, you’ll know why.
