Warning, this sticky refund trap could rob you of £47
Today’s Adventure in the Biz Opp Jungle:
‘In which Charlie is scammed by an imaginary book salesman, reels at this highly conditional refund promise, and reveals how to make money from low priced biz opp products.’

Imagine you walk into a bookshop.
In the corner you see a dusty tome. A salesman says...
“Ah, that incredibly rare book includes some of the most powerful anti-ageing secrets in the world... read it and you’ll look twenty years younger overnight.”
“Really?” you say, sceptical.
“I’ll prove it to you. Take the book and read it. And if you don’t look twenty years younger the next day, I’ll give you a refund.”
“That’s amazing,” you say, “What’s the catch?”
“None,” says the salesman. “Except...”
“Yes?”
“Well, a few things will invalidate the refund.”
“And those are?”
The salesman clears his throat and says, very quickly:
“You must read EVERY sentence of the book without exception, you must read the book TWICE, I will give you a written test on every aspect of the book to make sure you’ve done this, no refunds will be given if the book is creased, marked, wrinkled or breathed on, you must read the book while wearing a RED hat – no other colour is acceptable – and if you come into the shop tomorrow and you look even SLIGHTLY younger than you do now – in my opinion – I’ll know you’ve benefited from the book and you won’t get a refund. If you then complain about this refund policy you’ll be liable to trial without jury and immediate execution by firing squad.”
Not a likely scenario, right?
But in the biz opp jungle this sort of thing can happen...
“How I make money”.... by NOT giving refunds
One of my readers asked me about a site called ‘How I Make Money’, fronted by a guy called Mark who apparently made a million pounds in 8 years.
He’s selling his secret at a price knocked down from £499 to.... £47.
A bargain!
But anyone considering this should see the enormous list of conditions. Just check these out:

· You will have to try our program for at least 15 days after gaining access to the member's area or the Website we direct you to in the eBook and it’s only after 15 days that you can request for a refund.
· You will have to complete each step as directed by us in the member's area. If you do not complete every step as directed in the member's area you may not be eligible for your refunds.
· You will have to furnish us with the proof that you have done everything as specified by us in the member's area and still were not able make any money. You may do so by providing us with the login information of account for our verification.
· You will be eligible for the refunds only if you do not make ANY money from the use of this program.
· We are not responsible for the refunds of any Third Party associated with our program. Please refer to their individual Term regarding their refund policies.
· You are eligible for the refunds only in the case our program's inability to make you any money. You may not request a refund for any other personal or non personal reason. If done, it will be solely at the discretion of our refunds department. (For example, you may not be refunded if you complain).

The last one is my favourite: “You may not be refunded if you complain”.
It’s like something out of Catch 22...
REFUNDS ARE AVAILABLE TO EVERYONE, EXCEPT TO THOSE WHO ASK FOR A REFUND. ASKING FOR A REFUND WILL INVALIDATE THE REFUND.
Now, that’s what I call a conditional money-back guarantee.
These sorts of refund promises are to be ignored at all costs. If you see that kind of blurb beneath a sales pitch, then move on, no matter how tempting the product.
Another reader sent me an interesting email this week.
How to develop your own biz opp without shelling out hundreds of pounds
My reader says:
“I have been looking for "THE ONE" for what seems like a decade... and yet I feel just as far away from finding that release from "THE JOB" as I ever was! I have tried Forex, Gambling/systems, Selling books, etc etc. I am starting to believe the only good systems/programmes or whatever you want to call them cost thousands and the £97 to £297 stuff is, well, STUFF!”
Well, I can understand his frustration. It’s not always easy to hit on the right business, and sometimes the lower priced manuals don’t provide you with everything a business requires.
But I believe you CAN make the more ‘entry level’ programmes and courses work for you.
The key is to be sneaky... use them to educate yourself, mix and match some ideas... where there’s email support, use the expertise available during the trial to draw out information and advice... devour the manual in one sitting, and use the refund policy if you think it’s not going to be something you will use long term. And if you think it’s something that IS useful, create a small library of lower priced manuals.
You may find that a 3 or 4 manuals put together will give you that 3-Dimensional ‘business in a box’ that other people spend lots of money on.
Don’t be ashamed to try a few things. If you do this strategically it DOESN’T mean you’re a biz opp junkie.

The magpie secret of success
One Biz Opp Jungler bought my Inbox Tycoon book, which costs less than £50. He has constantly pressed me for advice and information on my business, which I've gladly given. I believe he's also tried other internet marketing opps and weaved bits and pieces into this information business. On top of this, he has also garnered bits of info from other publishers from whom he has bought systems.
Using what he’s learned, he has created an online information business. He’s improvised his own list building strategy and aggressively pursued his dream.
Now he's doing really well. He’s gathered almost 1000 unique subscribers since December, and now he’s taking his business forward in his own way. All this without buying into a super-pricey course.
It’s what I call a ‘magpie’ approach. You take matters into your own hand and gather the materials available to build your own nest-egg.
Many people rely solely on what’s written in a £47 manual to bring them success, when really it should be seen as a blueprint. It will take a bit of determination and business nous to bring those bare bones to life.
Biz opp is the same as any business - it's never automated or instant or guaranteed success - but if you are determined, anything is achievable.
