Today's Adventure in the Biz Opp Jungle:

'In which Charlie shares his broadcasting breakthrough... spots a potential catch in Six Figures Yearly... offers some insight into Greg Secker... and The Prosperizer'.

Hi ,

My inbox is teeming with requests for my views on the latest opps, which means I've loads to get through today.

So I'll cut to the chase.

First up, I've had some requests for details on how I deliver these snazzy "new look" issues of The Biz Opp Jungle to you.

No problem. I'm more than happy to share everything with you. It's a professional broadcast system called 'Campaign Commander'.

You can get it if you go to:
www.emailvision.com

It's not something that you'd need until you had a large number of people to whom you could send your email newsletter. But it takes away a lot of the confusing technological problems, which suits me fine.

What's 'Six Figures Yearly' all about?

You may have come across something called The Six Figure Yearly System. The webpage tells you nothing about what the business is, but does lots and lots of selling of the "work at home dream."

I haven't had any feedback on this one, but it looks like they're selling something similar to my own Inbox Tycoon programme.

They don't give any details in the sales piece, but I can pretty much guarantee it will be about growing an email list, sending out marketing messages, and generating sales from information products on commission or through affiliates.

That's fine, it's a real business idea. But my big problem comes when they say the following:

"I guarantee that if you use the system in the Six Figure Yearly System(tm) you will have learned exactly what I do to make up to $1000 - $3500 per day."

Over a grand and a half every day? That's over half a million per year.

This can't possibly be true. And certainly not "GUARANTEED." I don't understand why someone needs to resort to a ludicrous promise like that. If this was true, would they sell it for just $70?

They then say:

"If after 56 days, you honestly believe I have not delivered on this promise, I'll refund your money. Period."

Okay, so that sounds fine. It means you can safely try this out without risking your money, right?

Well, watch for the catch. Because they then say the following:

"There's only one condition. You have to put the system to work."

While this may be just a case of unfortunate phrasing, it seems to me that they're saying this offer is "conditional".

What happens if you can't prove that you put the system to work? Will you get a refund?

Add to this the fact that this is a US-based opportunity, you may - possibly - have trouble getting your money back. I'd avoid this one unless you're feeling particularly gung-ho.

What do you think of Greg Secker?

Greg Secker is a big name on the trading circuit. He offers free seminars where you go along and he offers you his basic advice on the subject.

Yes, it's a sales pitch for a more expensive course that you'll get offered at the end. But what do you expect for a free seminar?

Besides he's not one of those who immediately launches into the hard sell (the guys who sit you down then blow off your ears with shouty American rubbish). He goes for a softly softy approach, using biscuits, coffee and nice lighting as his secret weapons.

His method is spreadbet the FTSE 350. He chooses unloved stocks in well-performing sectors, using methods similar to Jim Slater's "Zulu principle". This means you need to look for factors like:

*A positive growth rate in earnings per share in at least four of the last five years.

*A low P/E ratio relative to the growth rate

*Strong liquidity, low borrowings and high cash flow

* Competitive advantage

* A small market capitalisation

You also get to learn about technical signals, and lots of charting techniques. All well and good.

The biggest criticism you'll hear about Secker isn't to do with his free seminars, but the price of his two day course: £2450 plus VAT.

Many online reviews and reader feedback says that while the course is sound, it's over-priced for what you get. And that his "make  15% gains every day claim" isn't experienced by many of his pupils.

If you have any experience of Secker's course, please do email me and me know how it went.

Why 'The Prosperizer' made me laugh

There's a new mutli-level-marketing opp going around at the moment called The Properizer. I believe it's by the same people behind Virtual World Direct, the lottery MLM that I reviewed on my site back in early 2006.

Their programmes are always well run, well-designed and slick as hell. You can ask for feedback and you get regular updates.

Personally, I don't endorse or get involved with these things.

I won't repeat my usual rant, but instead go to www.bizoppjungle.com and type "MLM" into the search facility.

You'll get my admittedly controversial views on the matter.

If you have a list of customers, a regularly viewed website, an email newsletter or a method by which to get any of these things fairly quickly, then by all means try it out.

People with big lists who get in early will make hay.

Those who get in late and don't have the means by which to create a large downline will merely make the people at the top of the 'pyramid' rich.

What made me laugh was the "FREE gifts" they offer. They include:

Free Gift 1 - Escape The Rat Race
Free Gift 2 - Money Magician
Free Gift 3 - What's The Big Secret of Success
Free Gift 4 - Making Money Selling Information
Free Gift 5 - How To Make £1,000 In 7 Days
Free Gift 6 - The Art of Money Getting
Free Gift 7 - The Science of Personal Magnetism
Free Gift 8 - Scientific Advertising
Free Gift 9 - Think & Grow Rich

They say: "Each one of these publications have sold for around £50 each!!! That's a saved value of £800.00!"

Well, actually, lots of these are freely available online, as they're out-of-copyright books that you can get on the public domain.

For example, The Art of Money Getting is one I offered you at Christmas:
http://www.bizoppjungle.com/christmasgift/

And Think and Grow Rich is one I gave away the previous year:
www.bizoppjungle.com/gift

So I doubt that they're all worth £800. But I'm being pedantic, I guess.

That's it from me. Look out for Wednesday's email as I've got a really important update on a product loads of people are raving about.
