You probably don’t consider yourself mine – or anyone else’s – mucka.
But whenever I talk about football stuff... which I’m about to do... my head rings with phrases like “On the ‘ead son” and “don’t muck abhat” and “ref you’re ‘aving a larf”.

It’s quite a sight... and sound. The air is filled with anguished cries and the scent of half time oranges. You can hear the THWACK of balls being kicked – both the leather sort and the human sort.

Not that I’m ever tempted to don the boots and join the fray.
To be honest, football’s just not my thing.
