Feedback on Cobb, freebie trading sites and more
Today’s Adventure in the Biz Opp Jungle:
In which Charlie worries about ending up in the Biz Opp Hospital for the Lame, gets feedback on Chris Cobb and passes on some freebie trading sites to give you the mental edge.’
Hi
Hey, I forgot to say the other week...
If you were one of the many to write in offering remedies for my cursed repetitive strain problem, thanks!
And even if you didn’t, I’m sure you’re literally WEEPING with concern.
You know... in case my arms drop off and I get carted away to Biz Opp Hospital to sit with all the damaged seekers... the scammed, the disappointed and the generally lame.
Anyway, to update you...
After some spine-crackin’ good times with my physiotherapist... a swimming session... lots of dog-walking, a couple of pilates classes... and a few weeks taking it easy on the keyboard (I’ve written these emails to you and nothing else, really)... I’m on the mend.
It just means that at the moment I spend 80% of my day doing the above. I’ve now got serious frustrations because of all the little projects I want to do, and can’t... not yet anyway.
But enough about me and my meagre problems.
Let’s see what you’ve been up to...
Some feedback on Cobb’s freebie
I’ve covered Chris Cobb before on my website, but I notice that at the moment he’s offering something called his ‘Automated Income Stream Start Up Kit’.
This package DVD package is a freebie. Which all sounds pretty groovy right?
The idea is that his kit will show you how to make £15,000 - £37,000 a month using his moneymaking techniques.
The only catch, if any, is that you have to pay £9.95 upfront for postage and packaging.
One of my readers has tried this and received 3 DVDs called "AIS System - How to Make £15,000 - £37,000 a Month".
Fair enough.
However my reader was less than impressed.
“The problem was it didn't contain ‘his results and secrets and show you exactly how anyone can make £15,000 - £37,000 a Month’. You basically get 3 random DVDs copied directly from an old American Internet Marketers SuperConference (the Derek Gel ones). That don't actually teach you his system.”
This criticism aside, I can see where Mr Cobb is coming from. It’s okay to repackage motivational DVDs from other gurus and offer them as a gift. In fact, it’s a brilliant marketing strategy – and it’s exactly what you should be doing with any of those resell rights packages you have hanging about.
The idea is that you give away something for free and then “upsell” the customers to a more expensive service.
Nothing wrong with that at all.
So why is this DVD set so disappointing?
The problem in this case is that the marketing led my reader to believe he would get Chris’s own specific money-making system.
I think this was why my reader felt disappointed. He adds:
“If this was even a taster to get me going back for more, it wasn't very clever. The DVDs were badly done, no presentation just cut straight in to the seminars, no intro or outro. Just a camcorder of part of a seminar... that was all 3 DVDs!”
And this being a gift for nothing, you can’t get a refund, even though you paid just under a tenner P&P.
My reader finished his email with a bit of advice:
“I've been looking into these business ideas for a few months now and advise anyone who is interested to log onto the Entreprenuer Channel website and request your totally FREE (no P&P either!) DVD of Andrew Reynolds "New Lazy Mans Way To Make More Money". It has just one DVD, but it’s a lot better than these 3 DVDs Mr Cobb is selling you.”
Thanks for this feedback and consider the information shared!
Some freebie websites for traders
Talking of sharing information, I was interested to read Dave Evans Market Maven email yesterday.
Dave Evans is the guy behind the trading review newsletter What Really Profits and this is his weekly email newsletter. If you want to know all about a trading system before you fork out for it, Dave is the man to go to.
Take a look at this ONE YEAR guarantee offer:
Anyway Dave had some really good advice for traders yesterday. He said:
“Finding a strategy can be frustrating, but it is made more frustrating by our drive to find the holy grail, the big one that will win big on every trade and hardly have any losses. The truth is that there is no holy grail. No system or strategy is perfect, but there are many out there that work and at the end of the day all you need is an edge.”
Along with this, he offered four blog sites that offer tips analysing and improving your personal trading approach. Plus some advice on how to get into the mindset of a trader – giving yourself that edge.
I hope he doesn’t mind me passing them onto you here:
All you have to do is take up his year-long risk free trial (it’s only £37 too) and he’ll be there to help you with absolutely anything related to trading.
By the way, the most amusing thing about those blogs by market analyst Brett Steenbarger is the personal info he supplies. While he looks very straight in his business suit and glasses, I notice he’s heavily into dark 1980s goth bands like Fields of the Nephilim and Rammstein.
Odd.
Anyway, later alligator
