FX tips for nothing and Liberty League revelations

Today’s Adventure in the Biz Opp Jungle:

‘In which Charlie shows you a way to get a free Forex book, reveals a colon cleaning hustle and investigates the Liberty League.’

Hi,

If you missed the Ultimate Forex closedown offer last Friday...

Or you were keen, but thought, “I can’t afford that kind of money”... or, “Gawd blimey guvnor, how much?” (If you’re a television cockney, for instance)...

Then you were perhaps one of the many who wrote to me over the weekend, asking about some less scary alternatives.

And fair enough, if you’ve not done FX before, you’d be better dipping your toe in the water first.

In a worst case scenario, you’ll pull your toe out to find a pirhana attached. But at least you’d still have your legs!

So here’s my recommended way to find out more about forex BEFORE you get burned, scammed, or generally angry to the pit of your stomach.

The best and worst of Forex...

Canonbury Publishing publish something called The Forex Black Book. It shows you who’s really making a profit out of Forex and who’s ripping people off.

It also shows you to genuine and proven ways to trade the Forex, FTSE and other markets.

With this nifty handbook you’ll know how much money these tipster and gurus could make you.

And here’s the sweetener...

This book a FREE gift when you take a look at their newsletter What Really Profits.

This is a great little trading review service that you can try for 12 months with a full money back guarantee. You get all the trading systems out there reviewed and analysed for that year.

Even if you take 11 months’ worth of issues and then decide to refund, that’s fine. The book is yours to keep, whatever you do, and whatever decide.

So it’s well worth getting. This is an easy, quick way to find out which FX products are worth buying and how much time and effort you need to put in to start making a profit.

It’s also worth a read just to see some of the many scamsters exposed.

Check it out here:

Talking of which, here’s a quick warning from a fellow biz opp jungler.

A colon cleansing hustle!

This isn’t strictly a biz opp thing, but shows you what kind of dodginess goes on in the world.

A reader says:

“I thought i would drop you a line to warn your readers of a scam I fell for run by viv3lab ltd. They advertise slimming and colon cleansing pills on the internet. I advise anyone looking on their site not to fill in their name and address for a free sample. It has cost me £150.32 this month .I had to change my card number to stop them deducting more. They are also impossible to contact. “

So it turns out that the people who offer to help you clean out your sh*t are, in fact, full of the stuff themselves.

Cripes.

Onto an opportunity I’ve been meaning to cover for a while...

What I’ve uncovered about The Liberty League...

Three Americans called Brent Payne, Shane Krider and Tim Darnell founded the original Liberty League.

It’s an opportunity based on two elements...

First you buy an expensive self help programme called Beyond Freedom. The contents are inspiring and about principles I personally believe in. However it doesn’t exactly espouse a new or unique idea.

One ex-Liberty League member writes:

“If you watch 'The Secret' and read a couple of well-chosen books you can learn all will learn from the Beyond Freedom program”.

If you remember, I covered The Secret a little while back. It’s abook and documentary DVD produced by Rhonda Byrne and a gaggle of self-help gurus.
Essentially, it offers a new-fangled version of the same self help principles that have existed for many decades. And at heart, these principles are true and useful – and I’d encourage you to think about them.

If you look at any self help or “get rich quick” book since the 1920s the secret is always pretty much the same. And it goes like this:

If you don’t get into the mindset of somebody who is successful, wealthy and popular... if you can’t visualise the things you want out of life... and if you don’t truly believe that you can achieve your dreams... then you will NEVER succeed

It’s pretty much impossible to achieve something you haven’t set your mind to. Fortune won’t come knocking on your door. You can’t get a job you haven’t applied for. You can’t win a lottery you haven’t entered.

What the liberty league offers in Beyond Freedom is pretty much along these lines. It’s a way of opening doors in your mind, liberating yourself from negativity and moving you towards your goals.

I don’t think it matters so much that the ideas are not new, or that you can gather some of this information from other publications. If it works for you and changes your way of thinking, it’s worth it.

However, the book itself is only a small part of the deal.

Yes, another referral business!

The main promise of Liberty League is that it’s a business opportunity. You refer the business to other people who then sign up, you then take commission.

The more people you get on, the more money flows your way.

In order to help you do kick-start your business, you’re invited to buy tickets for training seminars. However, in these seminars you are often UPSOLD to other products and add-ons to help you expand the business side.

Which means this can get a little pricy...

And here are some whispers and rumours to consider...

A tale of two businesses: Liberty vs. Emerald

A May 2006 court settlement with the Arizona Attorney General was brought on by numerous people filing complaints. The Liberty League says they were victim of slander from similar competing companies such as Emerald Passport, who encouraged people to file their complaints.
This is interesting because a guy called Joe Neid apparently came in and revamped Liberty League in the early days. With his help it turned from a struggling business into the big deal it is today.

He was then (allegedly) sacked so formed Emerald Passport Inc, based in Panama City. Emerald does pretty much does the same thing as Liberty League. It markets a self help programme and offers a similar referral plan.

While foraging around on forums, I also found something interesting about the company’s 2005 accounts. Only 4% of everyone in Liberty League averaged a six figure $100k income that year.

And 80% of all people averaged only $7,149 in profits for the whole year 2005.
That’s roughly a £5K opp (forgive my exchange rate guess)... but at what cost to your time?

The most likely income from this business for a newbie is about £5K per year – which actually isn’t bad if you were trading or doing something that took a small amount of effort.

But from all accounts Liberty League requires a very high level of involvement.

If you want to try it, this depends on what you’re looking for. If you want to join an all-embracing family or super-keen American libertarian entrepreneurs who LOVE you to keep paying as you learn, this could be for you.

What I find worrying is the expensive seminars that try to up-sell you.

I believe that expensive seminars should give you everything you need – and more. You should come away thrilled with the sheer amount you’ve learned, and thinking “All things considered, I got a bargain.”

It the training seminars are just a sales platform, then okay. But why not have free training seminars and THEN offer the upsell?

Hmmmm....

If I had a goatee beard I’d be scratching it.

Later alligator,
