Discover how much cash this rich monkey could make you
Today’s Adventure in the Biz Opp Jungle:
‘In which Charlie has The Great British Dream, moves into a Granny Flat, and wonders how much money a Rich Monkey can make’
Hi
You’ve probably seen this sort of biz opp promotion...
“Revealed, how this ex-bank manager from Scunthorpe discovered the secret to instant cash riches.... and makes a million pounds a night while he sleeps.... all by pushing ONE BUTTON... now you can do the same!”
There’s a photo of a bloke sitting in the sun at a bar. In the background is a tropical beach.
He’s grinning to the camera. A tiny orange umbrella protrudes from his cocktail. His balding head is scorched by the sun. In front of him is a laptop next to a wallet stuffed with notes.
His finger hovers over the keyboard, as if ready to strike down suddenly and generate enough instant cash for a bowl of peanuts and a lapdance.
It’s the Great British Dream!
I don’t know who all these Caribbean entrepreneurs are. Maybe there is a beach bar full of them somewhere. I wouldn’t know. I haven’t been on holiday since my honeymoon.
But I’ll give you my own take on this story...
Having run a successful home business, incorporating several income streams for 4 years, I’ve now got the luxury of working where every man dreams.
Yes.... a granny flat next door.
My neighbour’s elderly mother recently moved out, leaving a vacancy. So I leapt in with an offer to rent it for a few months as an office.
Working from home is great... but not with a screaming colic-stricken baby and a 16 month old who constantly wants me to show her videos of monkeys on Youtube.
Okay, so there’s no lapping waves, no hot sun, no cocktails....
But behind my desk are some nice net curtains. I can hear the rain drizzling against the window, and next to me is a nice cup of tea.
Mind you, this is only temporary. We’ve just accepted an offer on our house and should be moving to Devon sometime in the summer. Again, it’s not the Caribbean, but my wife hates hot weather anyway and the countryside there takes some beating.
It’s a modest dream, and I like it.
Okay, enough!
Onto business opportunities...
I got asked a great question this week:
“Is public domain dead in the water?”
This was in response to a free video seminar I gave last Saturday to members of my latest project... formerly known as ‘x’, now known as The Omega Programme.
If you didn’t see the video and want to know more about Omega’s fully operational e-business plan, then you’ll need to join the project here:

If you ARE on the Priority List for Project X and haven’t received anything, then check through your inbox again. And if you’ve had nothing, let me know.
I said in my video on Saturday that one of the things my programme DOESN’T involve was finding and repackaging public domain products. Not because this isn’t a technique that can be used profitably, but for me it’s not the sort of idea I am pushing for.
To explain briefly...
Public domain books are out-of-copyright titles. They’re available for anyone who wants them. You don’t have to pay the write (who is probably dead) and no publisher owns the rights.
In my view, these public domain products are idea to ‘steal’ and repackage. It’s a clever idea. I do it myself using books like Think and Grow Rich as free gifts and extras. You can add a lot of weight to your product or service if you ADD some carefully chosen public domain products that you've jazzed up.
Say you’re selling a email newsletter – offering a book as a gift is a great incentive to join. Or say you’ve got an eBay shop, offering a freebie book is a good way to keep your customers loyal.
My point in the Omega video was that, personally, I don't think there are many unique, untried products left on the public domain shelf. A lot of opportunities have sent people to plunder that particular goldmine.
I'm sure a talented entrepreneur could still do something exciting with a popular out-of-copyright book. (In this game you CAN polish a turd). But for my Omega programme I don’t want to send people off to find public domain books, repackage them and write copy for them. There are too many potential dead ends.
Instead my aim isn't to show people ‘how to’ do something, but to provide them with the thing itself.... ie, a complete business: a way to turn multiple income streams of £15K-£25K into home business worth a potential £75K – part time.
The idea is that I provide the kit – materials, templates, copy, product – you do the running
Anyway, if you’re not in the project this will mean nothing to you. So I’ll stop going on about it. If you’re keen to find out what the fuss is about, stick your email address here and I’ll be in touch.

Onto other matters...
How to make money from a rich monkey
One of my readers has been struggling to make money from the advice of The Rich Monkey. He has a £27 e-book with lots of advice about using public domain books to make money, plus other marketing techniques.
There is probably one reason why this book hasn’t quickly made the sort of money my reader expected.
Yes, the Rich Monkey is living the dream in Mallorca with a Range Rover Sport TD.
But while he talks of a single system that’s allowed him to achieve £7000 per week, his e-book won’t instantly beam you into his life, as if you’re Sam in that old telly show Quantum Leap.
The £27 e-book is an educational 'how to' product that shows you the a business strategy. It gives you ideas and techniques. But it doesn’t have absolutely everything you need to set up, run, and make a success of a home business on a day to day basis.
There’s no scam involved in this. This is usually the sort of thing you'll get for £27 - it's known as an 'entry level' product.
You get a bunch of insights, secrets and tips that an internet marketer has discovered (or adapted, more likely) for himself.
Customers who buy this will be advertised higher level products that will have more specific information and tools. eg a mentoring service, seminar or course.
If you’re interested in an e-book like this, I would consider it a first education in the principles of direct marketing than a ‘business in a box’.... you know, the sort that has a complete system that you follow step-by-step, with products, customers, email support, technical help, etc. (If you’re into that level of opportunity, then check out Omega here )
Or it could be something you buy if you’ve started making a little bit of money from a website, product or service, and want to know how to market it more successfully.
The Rich Jerk had a similar type of manual out in 2005 when I started thinking about internet marketing. It was a great influence on me and was the first thing I reviewed when I started The Biz Opp Jungle.
Okay, so it didn’t hold all the answers, or provide me with a complete business...
But without manuals like this I would have been clueless and vulnerable. In my view, even ONE strong tip that helps you towards achieving your goals is worth the money.
A £27 starter education
Most serious home entrepreneurs will have a bunch of different educational manuals and systems on their shelves. My own income streams are a mishmash of various techniques and ideas I’ve tried from such manuals.
Yes, they are quite expensive, ranging from £19-£47 – you don’t get books for that price in Waterstones! But the truth is that it takes quite bit of learning, trial and error to start making a success of a home business. All good advice is valuable. A library of techniques and strategies is ideal, if you’ve the money to invest.
I know that’s not what people want to hear. We love the idea of cheap, easy instant answers. And I understand the desire to believe a £27 manual will contain everything you need to make money from home for life. But the real world doesn’t work that way.
You can say the Man in the Granny Flat told you so!
I’ll be back with another review on Sunday. Remember to check out what’s new on the website here
If you DON’T have any money to invest in the strategies, even the £27 ones, then don’t despair. Check out this past issue of The Biz Opp Jungle:
