Can you really make £2K from scratch in a month

Today’s Adventure in the Biz Opp Jungle:

‘In which Charlie  turns into a sad clown and bursts the big biz opp bubble, tells the truth about how long it takes to make money, and offers the best resources from his website.’

Hi

Today I feel like a sad, slightly psychotic clown.

Because I’m about to write one of those annoying emails where I deflate a big biz opp balloon...

But there’s a good reason for me being a party pooper.

Quite a few Biz Opp Jungle readers have emailed me recently about problems the recession is causing them. I’ve heard tales of imminent unemployment, crippling debts, and serious personal financial crisis.

The question many of these people ask me goes along these lines:

“I am desperate to make instant cash. How can I get together a few grand in the next month? What can you recommend that will guarantee I achieve this?”

Now, I know a lot of biz opp gurus would reply like this:

“It’s EASY! You can make £5-6K per month in the next 3 months guaranteed. Look at me, I’ve got a big car and an enormous swollen head and – for some reason – a very poky and badly decorated home office. Follow me and let me show you how! I take credit cards and cheques.”

But I’m not one of them. Rather than join their orgy of hype, I’m going to be as brutally honest as I can be....

In serious debt? Read on...

If you’re in serious financial trouble you are vulnerable to promises of easy instant risk free cash.

There are many unscrupulous predators out there who feed on those desperate enough to believe their grandiose claims.

This isn’t a criticism of the hopeful seeker. It’s just that when times get really hard, the critical and cynical part of the brain gets disabled. I know this from my own experience. When I was in my early twenties and drowning in overdrafts and loans, I got suckered into a pyramid scheme.

I knew, deep down, it was too good to be true. But I couldn’t resist the faint possibility that there was an easy instant answer to my problems. It was as if I’d been hypnotised.

Announcing the annoying and BORING old truth...

Here’s the thing...

Home businesses are no different from other businesses. They take a bit of time. You have to learn the ropes as you go. You will make mistakes. You’ll have to fight your personal demons to find the motivation and self-confidence you need.

As with any business, the success of a home business is dependent on many factors.... not all under your control or the guru’s control.

Your personality, lifestyle, preferences and tastes influence the outcome. Increases in your competition or the popularity of a business are a factor. Market saturation and market fluctuations or trends also play a part.

And yes, there’s a bit of luck and “right place, right time” chucked in there too.

So f you’re looking to plug a debt hole of £2K or more in the next month, you need to think rationally about your strategy.

Making that money in a few weeks is going to be difficult from a standing jump. For instance, for a quick set-up you could try Amazon bookselling and eBay selling. But be aware that they are likely to make you about £10K - £15K in your first year, as long as you hit on the right niche.

Even my own email marketing biz opp breakthrough back in 2006 made me only £1-2K a month at first. And it took about 6 months to warm up.

Home businesses usually take a little while to get going. First you need to shop around for one that's right for you. Then when you find one you like, you’ll need the money-back trial period to play around with it. This is how you learn the ropes.

In most cases you’ll make a few mistakes, hit a few dead ends, and bang your head off your PC a couple of times.

This is natural. I do it all the time. I’ve gone through a few punched computer screens.

So does anything work?

The business models, ideas and principles in the manuals and courses I recommend will work... but there are no guarantees on timings and earnings. Some people are more suited to certain biz opps than others.

Unfortunately, there’s a culture of "BIG MONEY FAST GUARANTEED”" promises in the sales pitches for most of these kinds of courses. The many competing courses and seminars do get caught in a bit of one-upmanship.

These sales pages are advertising, so they usually offer best-case earning scenarios. This can give people a distorted idea of how much money they can make and how fast this money will appear.

So... if you’re coming to an opp from the position of sheer panic and urgent need of fast instant cash, my advice is to STOP!

Think first about a serious debt-relief strategy. There's no point in making plans until you've really looked at your current finances in a brutally honest way.

Either do this by finding some free personal financial advice from trusted friends, independent advisors or a bank or your own reading and investigation.

Put some achievable goals in place. See what you can do to sort and manage your debts. If you want a recommendation from me on this, then you check this review:

http://www.bizoppjungle.com/Letters/Could_this_be_the_fastest_%C2%A315K_you_ever_make.aspx

It's packed with info on saving money, getting out of debt, and starting biz opps for free. It’s a no risk deal. If you don't feel the info helps you, you can send it back.

What to do next

Once you've begun to sort your personal finances, you should think about creating a second income. Again, being honest, all the opps on my site are supposed to be "part time second income generators", rather than instant replacements for a primary income.

One of the easiest and most popular is this:

If you would like to get the largest amount of biz opp ideas upfront for a very small fee – and one that is refundable after 12 months if you’re not making a success of things – then look at this review:

This is the best starting point for any beginner and gives you all the advice you need to start your journey.

If you get to point where you know more about what you want out of a home enterprise, then this is the ultimate business (in my view) if you have time and dedication - this is the kind of business I do myself:

Or take a browse through www.bizoppjungle.com and see what floats your boat. If I give it the thumbs up, it means it’s safe to try during the refund period.

Don’t be afraid to send things back if you’re not entirely convinced. That’s what these safety checks are there for.

I’ll be back with more buoyant fayre at the weekend.

Later alligator
