Today's Adventure in the Biz Opp Jungle:
'In which Charlie gets his hair cut... then gets stuck into
3 specific money-making tricks to boost traffic to ANY website'.
Hi,
The other week, someone accused me of looking like Screaming Lord Sutch, after seeing the photo on the promo for my book
I'm not offended by this. Quite the contrary...
If there was ever to be an election where all the established biz opp gurus stood for President, I hope I'd be in the corner, cackling insanely and poking them all with a big stick.
There's nothing worse, in my opinion, than people who take themselves too seriously.
However, my hair did look stupid.
So the other afternoon I toddled off to get my barnet cut.
I looked into a few barbers and hairdresser. Most were completely empty.
I went into one and sat down, the only customer.
Forgetting that I was talking to a hairdresser and not a website owner, I said:
"Not much traffic in here today."
"Em..." the woman gazed outside. "The roads look pretty busy."
"Sorry, I meant customers," I said.
To her, this must have been a bit like me saying, "It's not very potato today... sorry, I mean it's not very WARM today."
She thought I was an idiot. After all, look at the state of my hair... it was like a mullet had clambered on top of a shag-pile carpet and tried to suck out the fibres with its hairy teeth.
If you can imagine such a thing.

"OK, shut up Charlie and MAKE ME SOME MONEY"

As promised in my New Year's Resolution email, this year I want to give you tips, tricks and shortcuts I've picked up on my adventures... as well as the usual reviews.
I mentioned 'traffic' earlier, because I've gathered a whole load of FREE information about making more money from websites.
Why? Because I love you.
Really, I do.

Ahem... I think I just touched your knee

Now, if you don't know already, TRAFFIC is a term for the amount of viewers passing through your website.
Most biz opps will, at some point, require you to generate traffic for a website. This means you have to, lure visitors so you can sell them a product or service.
For instance, I need to generate constant traffic to http://www.bizoppjungle.com so that I can build up readership for my e-letters.
One of the best ways to do this is to upload new content as often as possible, including, new articles, reviews, comments and blog entries.
This will get you noticed by Google, so you move you up the rankings of the search engines.
I can do this easily, because I run a review service and write my own stuff. But not to worry, you don't need to put pen to paper yourself...
Instead go to an online article directory. These have pre- written articles you can use. Simply pick articles that relate to your subject area and paste 'em onto your site.
Here are 6 to try:
http://www.articledashboard.com
http://www.goarticles.com
http://www.submityourarticle.com/articles
http://www.articleshop.co.uk
http://www.absolutearticle.com
http://articles.simplysearch4it.com
All of this is free, takes no effort and no writing skill.
And it's powerful, too. The more new, good quality content on your site, the more attractive it becomes... both to Google and to your customers.
So get cutting and pasting.
You can also try and delve into the murky world of 'Search Engine Optimisation'.

These free e-letters will help you see clearly

Search Engine Optimisation is where you try and get your site to the top of a search.
Say an overweight person typed 'weight loss', into Google and YOUR website came up on the first page of results!
That would be an example of where you'd "optimised"
your website.
To understand the power of this... think of how many people search for 'weight loss' every day... Now imagine if nearly all of those people passed through your site... and that your site sold weight loss supplement.
Kerr-blooming-ching. Thanks very much.
Trouble is, search engine optimisation (or 'SEO') is a bit of an art form. The rules change all the time. What's good technique one day, may become old hat a few months later. It's extremely difficult to get right and stay on top.
So what's the answer?
Well, don't look at me. I'm just a humble writer and biz opp reviewer.
My suggestion is that you sign up to a free e-letter about SEO so you can keep abreast of things. Check out this
webpage:

These guys cover search engine optimization, managing paid listings, link popularity, directory submissions, and more. They have a weekly and a daily version, dealing with the latest search industry changes, useful tools and products.
And a final tip...

Boost traffic with a gift
*******************
A good way to generate traffic is to source a free ebook or report, related to the subject of your website.
Now advertise this on related websites, magazines, and classified sections of newspapers. People who want the book will have to come to your website to get their hands on it. You can then catch their email address or sell them your wares.
You can write the book or report yourself, get someone else to do it, commission a professional writer... OR...
even easier...
Go to a public domain website. Find an out-of-copyright book. Steal it legally. And Bob's your Uncle.
Check out my review of Avril Harper's Ultimate Public Domain profit Plan for some more info.
Hope some of that was useful.
It works for Screaming Lord Sutch, anyway.
